🥊 Defense basics: Slipping:⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Boxers:⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 1️⃣ eyes on shoulders / chest ⠀ ⠀ 2️⃣ slip 6-8 inches to dominant side (outside) ⠀ ⠀ 3️⃣ hands up / eyes on target ⠀ ⠀ 4️⃣ hinge hips / engage core / slight weight shift in legs ⠀ ⠀ 5️⃣ relaxed movement between slips / don’t be static ⠀ ⠀ Coaches: ⠀ ⠀ 1️⃣ throw a long, accurate jab ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 2️⃣ keep it random & unpredictable ⠀ ⠀ 3️⃣ no audio cue ⠀ ⠀ 4️⃣ positive reinforcement/ be encouraging!
